Sinopsis
La película cuenta la historia de un indiano viudo que tiene un hijo natural y una sobrina que se llama Viridiana. Ella es una novicia a punto de tomar los hábitos y debe abandonar el convento para visitar a su tío don Jaime, quien le ha pagado los estudios. Durante su visita, don Jaime intenta retenerla. Al no lograrlo, el hombre se suicida, provocando que Viridiana renuncie a ser monja y se quede en la mansión a practicar la caridad cristiana. Don Jaime deja su herencia y su dinero a su hijo Jorge y a Viridiana por igual. La llegada de Jorge, hijo natural de don Jaime, cambiará definitivamente el destino de la joven.

Sinopsis
The movie is about a widower who has a natural son and a niece called Viridiana, a novice who is about to take the veil. She decides to leave the convent to visit her uncle Jaime, who paid for her studies. During her visit, Jaime tries to convince her to stay but fails and commits suicide. Viridiana renounces her religious calling and decides to stay in the mansion and practice Christian charity. Jaime bequeaths his money and inheritance to his son Jorge and to Viridiana in equal parts. The arrival of Jorge, Jaime’s son, will change the young girl’s fate forever.
